Cooking classes’ popularity rises
More and more standardised Thai cooking classes are being offered around the world, in cooperation with globally recognised cooking and hospitality schools.
The Thai Kitchen to the World committee recently inked an initial agreement with Australia’s leading food institute, the William Angliss Institute of TAFE. Phimol Srivikorn, secretary-general of the Commerce Ministry and a member of both the National Food Institute and the Thai Kitchen to the World project, said that more than 10 other institutes, in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and the United States, were waiting to sign a memorandum of understanding to include Thai cooking classes. – The Nation. ------------------------------- Bangkok Airways: Loyalty scheme to be introduced Bangkok Airways announced yesterday that it would launch its first passenger-loyalty programme, FlyerBonus, on December 1. The airline will launch the programme in two phases. Prote Setsuwan, company director of marketing strategy, said a soft launch would be held on December 1 to create awareness and an official launch on January 1. – The Nation. ------------------------------- Nichiworld: One-stop shops for children Nichiworld revealed its marketing plan for next year, aimed at the school-supply market, and announced a partnership with toy and furniture company Katoji Thai to provide one-stop shopping. Architecture and engineering students from each university in Thailand are encouraged to enter this prestigious competition, under the theme of “Steel, Space and Structure”.
