ASIAN INDOOR GAMES: 2nd golden stunt
Thais console with a silver in futsal event. Kiattichai Wanit-skun clinched his second gold medal in the Asian Indoor Games, recovering from an erratic first round performance to win the bicycle stunt park yesterday. His outstanding tricks gained him 92 points to win the second event following the bicycle park best technical victory the day before. “The feeling I had was inexplicable. Winning my second gold here is beyond imagination,’’ said the 17-year-old from Khon Kaen. He beat senior compatriot Somsak Senglee, who scored 87 points for the silver.
Shooters determined to hit the target
Despite the lack of a team event in the SEA Games, nothing should stop Thai domination of the shooting range, national team manager Khirisak Tantinvachai believes. Hosts the Philippines, realising the discipline is not a particularly strong one for them, has reduced the number of shooting gold medals from 26 to 13, with only the individual categories being included.

[BADMINTON] A budget of Bt200 million has been set up to support the “Go for Gold” campaign, the Crown Property Bureau and Siam Cement Group’s project to help Thais to win gold at the Olympics. Aviruth Wongbuddhapitak, assistant director-general of the Crown Property Bureau, said yesterday the project would support Thai competitors and help them to succeed in major competitions, particularly the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
