Yongyuth slams TRT faction

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Yongyuth Tiyapairat yesterday slammed a member of Thai Rak Thai’s Wadah faction for bringing a “climate of disharmony” to the political landscape.

He denied claims made by Burahanudin U-seng that Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra ordered him to blame the Wadah faction for the violence in the deep South and he ordered the former Yala MP to apologise.

On Wednesday, Burahanudin claimed that Yongyuth blamed the Wadah faction for conspiring in the violence in the restive region.

“That is simply not true. He has to apologise to me and clarify the situation because it has ruined my reputation,” said Yongyuth, who was Thaksin’s secretary in the last government.

He said he would file a complaint against Burahanudin unless he said he was sorry.
