ASIA PLUS SECURITIES reported a third-quarter net profit of Bt103.35 million, down from Bt197.29 million in the same period last year.

ADVANCE AGRO changed its subsidiary’s name from 99 Group Centre Co Ltd to Double A International Business Co Ltd.

CENTRAL PLAZA HOTEL said it would issue up to Bt3.5 billion in debentures with a view to expanding its business to cover educational services in the field of hotels, travel and tourism, and to operate spas and/or beauty-treatment centres. The company also appointed Gerd K Steeb as a director.

RATCHABURI ELECTRICITY GENERATING HOLDINGS completed negotiations on an investment in the Nam Ngum II hydropower project by acquiring shares in Southeast Asia Energy from Ch Karnchang Plc.

PACIFIC ASSETS completed the transfer of its investment in Pantip Park Co Ltd, the owner of Pantip Court Executive Residence, to Lehman Brothers (Thailand) for Bt350 million.

THAI WAH FOOD PRODUCTS reported that Krispy Snacks Co Ltd (KS), in which it holds a 87.61-per-cent stake, would discontinue the manufacture, export, import, wholesale and retail of rice crackers from January 1 as a result of continuing losses. Due to aggressive competition, KS’ sales and unit margin have fallen sharply, and Thai Wah considers the rice-cracker business as no longer a worthwhile investment. KS will lease out its factory and sell all of its machinery.

EASTERN WIRE appointed Dr Nob Satyasai managing director and secretary of the board of directors, with effect from November 16.
