COASTAL REAL ESTATE: Bt5 bn in Pattaya and Hua Hin properties put out for bid
Harrison (Thailand) Co Ltd, a property management and consulting firm, will take bids on land, residential units, condominiums, a hotel, golf club and resort in Pattaya and Hua Hin from today until November 20.
Buyers interested in joining the bidding for the properties worth an aggregate Bt5 billion may ask for information at Harrison offices in Bangkok, Pattaya and Hua Hin, vice presidentKittisak Champatippong said yesterday. “Demand for residential units on the beach has shown strong growth. As a result, the company believes that a number of investors and homebuyers will join the bidding for assets at this event,” he said. – The Nation. -------------------------------------- CONVENTIONS AND EXHIBITIONS: Thai bureau wins trade award The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) won the Best Convention and Exhibition Bureau Award from Travel Trade Gazette Asia. Peerapong Oeusoonthornwattana, director-general of TCEB, said TTG Asia compiled rankings of the international convention and exhibition sector in the region. These activities are deemed as high-quality tourism that generates income and promotes knowledge transfer, he said. To date this year, TCEB has won seven out of the nine events it bid for Thailand to host, against bids from Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Thailand won the bidding to host six in 2006-2007 such as New Route Asia 2006, ISPA Asia Pacific Conference and Exhibition 2006, and Automechanika Thailand 2006. – The Nation. -------------------------------------- CELL-PHONE ROAMING: DTAC connects in Scandinavia Total Access Communication Plc (DTAC) has become the first cell-phone operator in Thailand to provide mobile connectivity at sea in Scandinavia. The company has entered into a roaming agreement with Maritime Communications Partner AS, a Norway-based maritime cellular operator that uses the GSM and CDMA wireless technology. The service enables DTAC customers to make calls, receive calls and send text messages using their mobile phones while on a boat in the Baltic-and North-sea areas around Sweden, Norway and Denmark, said Wansit Saiyawan, head of DTAC’s international business department. DTAC has 329 roaming networks in 124 countries worldwide. The service took effect last Friday.– The Nation.
