[TENNIS] Fresh from finishing runner-up in the Stockholm Open, Thai No 1 Paradorn Srichaphan returned home yesterday to rest before playing in his final two tournaments of the season in Europe. After climbing up the rankings to No 43 on Monday thanks to his brilliant performance last week in Sweden, Paradorn has some free time as he failed to qualify for the Madrid Masters Series as his ranking last week was below the top 50.

Big fleet expected for Lasers

[SAILING] The 2005 National Laser Championships will be sailed this weekend off the Royal Varuna Yacht Club in South Pattaya, and a big line-up of both local and foreign sailors are expected to take part. The Lasers will be sailed over three days from Saturday to Monday. Registration and the briefing will start at the Royal Varuna Yacht Club on Saturday morning at 10.00am, with the warning signal for race one expected at 1pm.
