Universiade preparations just fine

[WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES] A committee from the International University Sports Federation (FISU) is satisfied with the overall progress of the organisation of Bangkok Universiade 2007. Deputy Prime Minister Suwat Liptapanlop, president of the Bangkok Universiade Organising Committee (BUOC), said the FISU delegates inspected four facilities in Muang Thong Thani, Thammasat Sports Complex, Srinakarin Onkarak and Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) Sports Complex, which will be the main venues for the University Games.

Suwat confident of indoor success

[ASIAN INDOOR GAMES] Deputy Prime Minister for sports Suwat Liptapanlop said yesterday Thailand next month’s Asian Indoor Games will be a success even though local organisers have been hit hard by a budget shortfall. Thailand will host the inaugural edition between November 12 and 19, which will feature nine sports events consisting of indoor athletics, futsal, aerobics, dance sports, extreme sports, hoop takraw, indoor cycling, Muay Thai and swimming.
