EDITORIAL: Another tragedy in a tortured land

Once again, Iraqis are forced to endure great loss of life as they struggle to attain a sense of normalcy. For more than two years after the so-called liberation of Baghdad by the United States-led coalition forces from Saddam Hussein’s reign of terror, the situation in Iraq has degenerated into a raging civil war that is producing one atrocious act after another.

We all know that the government of the Great Communicator has big face. And it would do anything to preserve its big face. This big face is accompanied by a can-do-everything-under-the-sun attitude. Once the government of the Great Communicator announces any project or makes any promises, it must fulfil its obligations so it remains popular with the people.
