Chuwit facing probe over alleged alcoholic beverage in the House

Anyone who saw Chat Thai MP Chuwit Kamolvisit consuming an alcoholic beverage during a House debate should tell the Parliamentary ethics committee, says Chiang Rai MP Samart Kaewmeechai. “MPs who saw what happened and thought Chuwit was misbehaving to the detriment of the House’s reputation should complain to the committee,” said panel member Samart.

Thai Rak Thai MP Wichet Kasemthongsri has accused Chuwit of taking liquor during a debate. He denies the allegation.

PASAK JOLASID DAM: Sudarat seeks fact-finding chief

Agriculture Minister Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan has asked the Office of the Attorney-General to nominate a representative to head a fact-finding committee to look into the appropriation of land for the Pasak Jolasid Dam. Sudarat said she had asked Pol General Seripisut Temiyavej to join the panel, but he had too many other cases on hand.

Members of the House agriculture and agricultural cooperatives committee visited Pasak Jolasid Dam yesterday and meet the governor of Lop Buri and local administrators involved in the dam.

Anand Kanchananit of the Lop Buri land office said the land prices claimed by the landowners were much higher than the estimated prices from 1989 to 1991. He said it was suspicious that the landowners had chosen to invest in such an unpopular area.
