Injured foot puts Tammy on sideline
Thailand’s No 1 women’s player Tamarine Tanasugarn has cancelled all her warm-up events before the US Open due to a nagging injury to her left foot which has bothered her since last November. Since helping Thailand beat Slovakia in July’s Fed Cup, Tamarine has withdrawn from every hard court tournament in an effort to heal the sole of her foot.
NSW hang on to outlast Auckland
[RUGBY UNION] The final match of the inaugural 80-80 tournament in Phuket on Sunday could not have been better scripted when after 20 minutes of extra time, NSW beat Auckland 14-12 in a thrilling and tough encounter. At half-time the score was locked at 7-7 after tries from David Kehoe for NSW, which he converted, and for Auckland from Caleb Hardie, whose try was converted by Matt Ryan.
