Tohome.com will announce a virtual shopping mall next month and expects to increase its customer base by more than 30 per cent.

Teeravut Wongvibuslsin, managing director of Asia Star Trading, said that the firm next month will open the mall at www.tohome.com, aiming to allow teenagers to purchase products directly from suppliers.

“Customers are now familiar with accessing the Internet and ordering consumer items and IT products that way,” said Teeravut.

He added that the company has more than 50,000 product items available on the Net, divided into eight categories – music, books, movies, digital cameras, mobile phones, computers, PDAs and electronic devices. It plans to deliver new items such as flowers, health and beauty items, as well as travel services. It will increase the product range by at least 30 per cent.

The firm will deliver products in one to three days, depending on the customer’s location.

Its main market target is customers between 25 and 35 years with a salary of more than Bt10,000. It has more than 50,000 customers now and expects this to increase by around 30 to 50 per cent.

To encourage customers to visit the website, the firm will, together with partners, run a promotion campaign to encourage users to buy products over the Internet.
