Thailand preparing submission to US
Thailand is preparing a submission to the US International Trade Commission, asking it to consider ending anti-dumping duties on shrimp and shrimp products as a means to help tsunami-hit countries.
Foreign Trade Department director-general Rachane Potjanasuntorn said yesterday the data should convince the commission to revise the duties against Thailand and India.
The US agency will be given all of the facts on the damage caused by the tsunami and is expected to make a decision on October 31. It will send an official to inspect damage to Thai shrimp farms and hatcheries in the South in August. - The Nation.
