To offer more convenience for credit card payments, Embes Technology (Thailand), a two-year-old local technology company, has developed a system to allow shops, restaurants or petrol stations to make credit-card payments through the mobile-phone network.

Realising that the demand for geographic information system-related applications and services is rising, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), an organisation that possesses such assets in abundance, has joined with ESRI (Thailand) to provide the services commercially.
