[RUGBY UNION] Rugby fans in Bangkok are in for a treat when three of the biggest names in the game arrive for coaching and speaking engagements in June.
Former England hooker Brian Moore, controversial All Black prop Richard Loe and Wallaby legend David Campese will all be guests of the very successful Bangkok Lions RFC.
Bangkok Lions chairman Bruce Hill said: “As 2005 features a British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand, we have been working hard with Justin Sampson of ESPN Star Sports to secure the services of rugby celebrities and our plans have been to cater for the wider rugby communities both in Bangkok and our club which are British, Irish, New Zealand and Australian. “We are pleased to announce that we have secured the services of former England hooker Brian Moore, who is currently regarded as one of rugby’s best after dinner speakers, former New Zealand prop forward Richard Loe and to cater for our Australian cousins, a certain Mr David Campese. “These celebrities will hold coaching clinics on the morning of June 11 and will be present at a gala dinner which will be held at the Conrad Bangkok at 7:30pm in the evening. “We are planning a great evening of entertainment, which will also feature an auction of rugby and other sporting memorabilia. This will be great day for both the Lions children and parents and further information will be announced during the next week.” Super 12 semis decided n New Zealand sides Canterbury and Wellington joined the New South Wales Waratahs as Super 12 semi-finalists after the Crusaders’ 27-13 win over the Otago Highlanders yesterday. New South Wales clinched a home semi-final on Friday with a 27-8 win over arch-rival Queensland. In another match yesterday, the defending champion ACT Brumbies and New Zealand’s Waikato Stormers played to a 28-28 draw.
