World trade threatened by regionalism

Emerging from the harshest winter in over a decade, the pace of life in Geneva is slowly picking up even though snow still caps the mountains and on most days dark rain clouds hover over the city. At the headquarters of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), over 1,700 participants filled the conference rooms to overflowing last week for the Symposium on Global Problems and Multilateral Solutions marking the 10th anniversary of the WTO.
